TmaxSoft’s OpenFrame Wins Ministry of Science and ICT Award at the 2025 Global Commercial Software Excellence Awards
Recognized for OpenFrame's quality, innovation, and proven success in global mainframe modernization

TmaxSoft, a leading enterprise software company, today announced that its mainframe modernization solution, OpenFrame, has been honored with the Minister of Science and ICT Award at the 11th Global Commercial Software Excellence Awards 2025.

The Global Commercial Software Excellence Awards, established in 2015, recognize outstanding companies that contribute to the advancement and ecosystem of Korea’s software industry. The event is hosted by the Korea Commercial Software Association, the Public Procurement Council, and the Government Informatization Council, with sponsorship from the Ministry of Science and ICT, the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), and the National Information Society Agency (NIA).

This marks the second time TmaxSoft has received this prestigious recognition, following the award for its middleware product JEUS 8 in 2019. The company was once again recognized for its technological differentiation and global competitiveness through OpenFrame.

OpenFrame enables enterprises to migrate critical assets—such as data and applications—from legacy mainframe environments to cloud-native or open systems. The solution supports seamless business continuity during digital transformation, achieving significant success in markets such as Japan and the United States, where demand for modernization is high.

OpenFrame has been adopted by multiple global enterprises, including major banks, insurers, retailers, and manufacturers across the U.S. and Japan. It has also been named a Leader in Mainframe Modernization Software for five consecutive years (2021–2025) in ISG’s Quadrant Report, a global IT market research benchmark.

Building on its proven technology and strong global presence, TmaxSoft plans to accelerate its expansion in the global mainframe modernization services market, projected to reach USD 62 billion by 2028. The company continues to strengthen collaborations with cloud service providers (CSPs) such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and NHN Cloud. Recently, TmaxSoft signed a strategic partnership with NHN Cloud to jointly pursue mainframe modernization projects in Japan.

OpenFrame has also been recognized for its cloud service excellence through NIPA’s SaaS Development and Fostering Program for two consecutive years. TmaxSoft plans to leverage its global network to further expand in the SaaS market, integrating AI-driven capabilities into OpenFrame’s automated legacy analysis and code transformation features for enhanced modernization services.

“We are proud to receive this meaningful recognition, which reflects the growing global trust in Korean software companies with proven technology and service quality,” said HyungYong Lee, CEO of TmaxSoft. “With OpenFrame and our broader cloud software portfolio, we will continue to respond swiftly to global AI transformation (AX) demands and strengthen our foundation for future growth.”
